Thanks to Mr. Segar’s personal generosity and a board-designated allocation, three $1,500 scholarships are available for high school seniors who reside within the 22-county territory served by the Epilepsy Foundation of Rochester-Syracuse-Binghamton.
2010 Stephen A. Segar Scholarship Winners
Stephen A. Segar congratulates the 2010 recipients: Marybeth Diego of Weedsport High School, enrolled at Nazareth College; Mikeisha Gee of School Without Walls, Rochester, NY, enrolled at the Continental School of Beauty and Mallary Walton of Newark High School, enrolled at SUNY Cortland.
The three recipients will receive their awards at a luncheon attended by their families and other invited guests on July 15, 2010 at the Country Club of Rochester.
“Young people with epilepsy are capable of achievement and excellence in virtually any field,” says Segar. “Having epilepsy should never be looked upon as a limitation. It is my hope that this scholarship program, in some measure, will encourage students with epilepsy to pursue their dreams.”
