Community Education

The Epilepsy Foundation makes a continuous effort to educate the general public about epilepsy.  Our public education programs include workshops and presentations for a variety of general and specific audiences, such as:

  • Schools (teachers and administrators, nurses, classes, and ancillary service personnel such as bus drivers and others)
  • Senior Living Facilities
  • Other human services agencies
  • Community organizations
  • Business and industry of all kinds

 Our programs and presentations provide information on:

  • causes of epilepsy 
  • fallacies and myths 
  • seizure types
  • first aid 
  • parenting issues 
  • employment concerns 
  • understanding and support 
  • new medical treatments for epilepsy

  November is Epilepsy Awareness Month and our Community Education department holds a variety of educational activities to celebrate.
